About GPT Transcribe
An online speech to text workspace running on OpenAI Whisper — built for the recordings people actually have to deal with.
Why we built GPT Transcribe
Interviews, calls, lectures, and long meetings hold a lot that never gets used, because typing them out by hand costs hours nobody has. GPT Transcribe turns that audio into editable, timestamped text across more than 100 languages, usually in a fraction of the recording's own length.
Sign in once and the free minutes are already on the account — nothing to install, no queue to sit in. Drop a recording in and the text comes back while you are still on the page. What you upload stays attached to your account until you remove it.
What you can actually do here
Four things, done properly, rather than a long feature list.
Get audio in
Hit record for something happening now, drag in a file that already exists, or hand it a media link and let it pull the audio down itself.
Over a hundred languages
Pick the language or let it work one out on its own — including the accents that usually defeat phone dictation.
Fix and find
Correct a misheard name once, mark who is speaking, and search back through everything you have run so far.
Take it elsewhere
SRT for a video timeline, DOCX for a document, JSON for your own pipeline, TXT when you just want the words.
Built on OpenAI Whisper
GPT Transcribe runs on OpenAI's Whisper model, an open speech recognition system trained across a very wide range of real-world audio. Background noise, regional accents, and mixed-language conversation hold up far better than with older dictation engines — which is the difference between a transcript you can use and one you have to retype.
The recordings remain yours
Your recordings exist here to produce your transcript — that is the whole arrangement. They are not sold, not fed into model training, and not kept beyond what delivering the transcript requires.
Read the Privacy PolicyWho ends up using it
Creators
Podcast and video people who need captions out the door, show notes written, and interview quotes they can trust.
Researchers, reporters, students
Reporters working through interview tape, researchers coding transcripts, students who recorded the lecture and now need it searchable.
Teams
Turning the weekly call into a record someone can actually find later — and one colleagues in another language can read.
What we hold to
Privacy is the default
What you upload stays your material. We do not claim rights over it.
Works without a mouse
Usable from the keyboard alone, readable by a screen reader, and legible without perfect eyesight.
Kept sharp over time
New Whisper releases get evaluated as they land, and the problems users report back are what set the order of work.
Something to ask or report?
Every message is read by someone who works on the product. Accuracy problems, a language that struggles, a feature you need — send it over.
