How to use the MP4 to MP3 converter
Video resolution does not improve an extracted soundtrack. The useful decisions are whether the clip contains sound, which output bitrate fits the listening job, and whether the device has enough memory for local processing.
- 01
Choose an MP4 video
Select one local .mp4 file and confirm the displayed name and size.
- 02
Choose audio bitrate
Pick 128 kbps for speech or size savings, 192 kbps for general use, or 320 kbps for a larger output.
- 03
Extract the audio
Conversion ignores the picture and encodes the first available audio stream as MP3.
- 04
Check before saving
Preview the audio in the browser, then download it with a clean filename.

Choose bitrate for the audio, not the picture
An MP4 can carry video and audio streams together. This converter ignores the visual stream and re-encodes the first sound stream as MP3, so video resolution and frame rate do not determine the output audio quality.
A higher bitrate creates a larger MP3 but cannot restore detail already missing from the source. For spoken material, 128 kbps may be sufficient; 192 kbps is a balanced general default; 320 kbps favors bitrate over size.
Screen recordings
Separate a presentation, call, or tutorial soundtrack from its video frames.
Podcast source clips
Create an audio-only working file before editing or transcription.
Portable listening
Save the spoken track when watching the image adds no value to the next pass.

Know before you start
A trustworthy tool says where its result can fail, what stays on your device, and what deserves a human check.
Bitrate cannot restore missing detail
A 320 kbps output does not add fidelity that was absent or heavily compressed in the source track.
Conversion is not a downloader
The tool accepts local files only and does not fetch streaming videos, remove access controls, or bypass the source owner's permissions.
Device memory sets the file limit
Desktop browsers accept up to 250 MB, while mobile and low-memory devices use a 96 MB safety limit.

Frequently asked questions
What bitrate should I choose?
192 kbps is the balanced default. Choose 128 kbps for speech and smaller files, or 320 kbps when a larger output is acceptable.
Can I convert an MP4 with no sound?
No. An MP3 requires an audio stream; the converter reports a missing-audio error for silent video.
Can this page download a streaming video?
No. It converts a file you already have permission to use on your device and does not fetch remote streaming media.
